the bryce revolution

so, what do you think of the state of packaging these days? i think it is pretty darn excessive...have you ever needed serious tools to get some plastic toy out of plastic packaging? you know what i'm talking about...that really hard plastic that practically needs a saw to cut through, then you need screw drivers to remove the toy or you get finger damage from the twisty things? then of course, where does all this packaging end up? yup, landfill city. and think of all the chemicals it takes to PRODUCE this really intense packaging.

anyhow, a neighbor of mine is just as fed up and he has started his own revolution...get ready for it...

HE LEAVES THE PACKAGING AT THE STORE!

pretty radical, i know...but can you imagine if all of us would start participating in this peaceful revolt maybe the word would get back to the packaging people...WE DON'T WANT IT ANYMORE!

what he does is after the checker scans the bar code and he is finished making the purchase, he asks if the checker can dispose of the packaging for him. he then removes the packaging and leaves it on the counter...

what if lots of people started doing this? kind of like how lots of people started using reusable bags and now some cities have banned the single use plastic bag...

another motivator for this can also be financial...my neighbor doesn't want to pay to throw the excessive packaging away in his own garbage can...so, two birds with one stone...help your own pocket book and maybe get the message out regarding the wacko packaging...come on people now...smile on your brother...oh whoops, i got carried away there....

i haven't been brave enough to try this, but i'll let you know how it goes when i give it a try...will you let me know if you decide to try?
