this is a custom order i just finished, this friend wanted this for her sister who has done a lot of healing work and has come a long way. while painting this I learned that the lotus flower has very humble beginnings, in the muck and slime at the bottom of a pond...it then grows towards the light to become a beautiful flower.
there is something very appealing to me about this...looking back on my youth calling it muck and slime is perhaps too strong but i can really relate to trying so hard to grow towards the light. anyhow, this project came at a nice time, i wish everyone a graceful 2010 and may you grow towards the light.
