this guy reminded me to have hope.

 this visitor decided to hang out on my window right near a sticker i had applied almost two years ago when the mood was very hopeful. my mood has changed since then, a more frustrated, cynical even paranoid mood has replaced the hope that was sooo strong then. but...i'm going to take this unexpected visit in an unexpected place as a sign and a reminder to be hopeful and optimistic. maybe naive, but it just feels better. 

praying mantis power

my neighbor found this guy on her plant that had been infested with little caterpillars. i think the praying mantis kicks butt! these guys track your movement with their eyes (their head moves where you move) and if they feel like you are getting a little too close they rear up as if ready for a fight. what courage.

i decided to take a lesson from this guy, if something seems a little too big, a little too daunting, i'm going to channel this insect's bravery...and just rear up and get ready for what comes...you never know how it may turn out...
